Five signs your eBike chain is worn out
Mid-drive motors wear chains 2-3x faster than传统 bikes. Five wear signals and the 0.75% replacement threshold, plus why wide-inner-plate chains last longer under high torque.
Five signs: 1) sluggish shifting (chain line drifts as the chain elongates); 2) chain slip under hard pedalling; 3) hooked cassette teeth; 4) a gauge catches at 0.75%; 5) noticeably louder drivetrain.
Replace at 0.75%: changing the chain alone saves the cassette; at 1% the cassette usually goes too, doubling the cost.
KMC eBike series uses wide inner plates to spread high-torque stress and X-surface treatment against rust; check mid-drive bikes every 1,500-2,000km.
